Among the most scenic hikes around La Salle and Courmayeur, the trail to Court de Bard offers one of the most spectacular viewpoints over the Aosta Valley and the great peaks of the Mont Blanc massif.
The route begins in the village of Challancin, one of the most characteristic alpine hamlets in the area, located above La Salle. The trail first follows a rural road leading to the alpine pastures of Arpilles, then continues along a path that crosses conifer forests and mountain meadows until reaching Col de Bard, a grassy mountain pass with beautiful panoramic views.
From the pass, the trail follows a long and gentle ridge leading to Court de Bard (2,261 m), a natural promontory overlooking the central valley and offering spectacular 360° views of the main mountains of the region. From here the panorama stretches from Mont Blanc to the Grandes Jorasses, and from the Grivola to the Gran Paradiso.
The trail is well marked and features a gradual ascent, making it suitable for hikers with a basic level of fitness. The wide alpine meadows and open panoramas make this hike perfect for those who want to experience the mountains at a slower pace while admiring some of the most beautiful landscapes of the Valdigne area.
